Linda Lamignan

Linda Lamignan (b. 1988, Stavanger, NO / NG) is a Copenhagen-based visual artist. Lamignan has an MFA from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 2019 and a BFA from the Academy of Fine Arts in Oslo.

Through video, music, objects and performance, Lamignan explores narratives about wanderings, diaspora, transformations and love. In Lamignan’s works, materials and symbols appear as signifiers. If one uses the belief system of animism, all ‘things’ are alive; each material, each symbol, each character tells its own story, has its own memory and soul. According to Lamignan’s practice, all materials thereby also have an inherent possibility of transformation.

Lamignan has exhibited at Kunstnernes Hus, Oslo (NO), Kunsthal Rønnebæksholm, Næstved (DK), Stavanger Kunstmuseum, Stavanger (NO), Verkstad Konsthall, Norrköping (SE) Vermilion Sands (DK), Rundetaarn (DK), Rogaland Kunstsenter (NO), Queens Museum (US) and Kunsthal Aarhus (DK).
